My November Valentine
with artists Grace Kubilius & Jeremy LampeFriday, November 14th, 2014 Opening Reception from 6:00 p.m. to - 8:00 p.m.
PERFORMANCE AT 6:30 ON OPENING NIGHT
of Grace Kubilius' new collection of wearable objects
OH HOW I LOVE YOU
My November Valentine is an expression of the heart in winter. Art meets fashion in the work of Grace Kubilius as she presents her new collection inspired by children's love poetry. Kubilius' experimental garments allow us to cast of restrictive ideas of beauty in exchange for playfulness, purity and the unself-conscious expression of love as known by young hearts. By creating with salvaged materials she is able to re-purpose identity. Embodying the curious nature of affection, her garments are a wearable declaration of love. Jeremy Lampe, creates heart-like glass vessels that play with light and vulnerability. His sculptures suggest bodily systems and biological organs. Retaining a sense of fluidity and softness, Lampe's work is remarkably reminiscent of hot glass before the cool. For these artists, love is at its most exuberant when met by a starry-eyed reflection - whether in glass, poetry or the heart of another. Exhibition runs until December 17th, 2014.
Hours | Wednesday and Saturdays from 1:00pm to 4:00pm
Or please call for an appointment.
