S.A.N.E. (Semi-Acoustic Noise Ensemble)
Performs For The "Losing Reality" Closing Reception
Seeking balance? Then join us this Saturday for an open house musical performance by S.A.N.E. (Semi-Acoustic Noise Ensemble) and the closing reception for "Losing Reality," photographs by Ellen Jantzen.
Genre-free S.A.N.E. is comprised of Mike Murphy (aka Doc Mabuse) on GuitarCello, Venus on electronics, tory z starbuck on violin and woodwinds, and Bruce McLaughlin on percussion. Together they improvise a melange of multi-dimensional deconstructed abstract sound that will scintillate your psyche.
Ellen Jantzen's "Losing Reality" series explores alternate states of reality and the nature of personal loss. The images are inspired by her experiences caring for a parent with advanced Alzheimer's. "I became acutely aware of not only the aging process, but also the vagaries of memory and the sense of loss that permeated our lives here." Her images depict how a person adapts to loss and how the body, mind and spirit are absorbed and transformed by that loss.
