Craft Alliance is pleased to announce Sky High Tea: A Teapot Exhibition. The opening reception is on Thursday, March 29, 2012, from 5:30 – 7pm in the The Meeting Place Gallery at the Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. Sky High Tea: A Teapot Exhibition is the inaugural exhibition curated for The Meeting Place Gallery, part of Lambert’s new Art and Culture Program. The gallery provides a window to St. Louis’ rich art scene at one of the most important gateways to our city.
What better object than the teapot to celebrate one’s arrival to a new city or a warm welcome back. Evoking emotions of comfort and warmth, this exhibition showcases teapots in glass, clay, metal, and fiber. 19 regional artists have been invited to participate in this show, including ceramic artists LG Barnes, Daniel Barnett, Charity Davis-Woodard, Eric Hoefer, Yukari Kashihara, Ruth Ann Reese, Dan Anderson, Susan Botswick, Yael Shormoni, and Laurie Blaesin; fiber artists Jo Stealey, Victoria Weaver, Miriam Wiegand, Ann Coddington Rast, Qun Liu; metal artists Michael Parrett and Paulette Myers; glass artist Susan Taylor Glasgow and mixed-media artist Cathy Barancik.
The Meeting Place Gallery at Terminal 1 Bag Claim is located at the passenger pick-up waiting area at the B/C/D Concourse exit, across from the Black Americans in Flight mural. The gallery is pre-security and accessible to all Airport visitors.
