Framations: Friday, 21 October 2011

Two new exhibits open October 21 at Framations in St. Charles and offer the public a chance to win a $100 Gift Certificate to Framations. Starting on October 21, each non-perishable food item or toiletry item donated on site will grant the customer one free entry into a drawing for the $100 gift certificate. No purchase is necessary for entry into the drawing. Framations will be taking donations through the holiday season. All donations will go to a local food bank, with more information coming soon to www.framations.com. The drawing for the gift certificate will be held in December, the exact date TBA.

In coordination with the beginning of the food drive, there will be an Opening Reception for two new exhibits featuring regional artists.

In the Main Gallery, Art World Association will display works by more than a dozen of its members, with works varying by medium in and exhibit entitled "People - Places - Things". Art World Association was founded in 1963 by dedicated artists for the purpose of promoting, encouraging, and foster the arts in the St. Louis Community. As a non-profit organization they are open to all artists and any others who are interested in the arts. Their mission is to create an environment that promotes the members to continue to grow and mature in their art endeavors. This exhibit will open with a free public reception on October 21 from 6-8pm and will be on display through November 23.

In Gallery Two during this time, Juliette Travous will display recent pastel paintings, focusing on landscapes in rich colors and textures. Featuring several large scale pastels, Travous often focuses in on areas that may go otherwise unnoticed in nature. Her paintings serve as a viewfinder that show us her personal view, selecting memories and personal visions from her own travels and experiences.
