Guffee’s paintings are based on simple forms and peaceful scenes in nature, drawing primarily from Missouri and California landscape. By highlighting elements of nature that could easily be overlooked, Guffee hopes to encourage viewers to slow down and savor the beauty that surrounds us.
This collection represents over a year’s efforts in studio and plein air painting, and reflects a lifelong love of nature combined with a careful study of American, European and Asian art. The paintings include elements of realism, Impressionism, and abstraction, combined in a way that creates a unique serenity and an honest depiction of the beauty present in the natural
world.
