Three Sinks Gallery: Friday, 8 May 2009
Opening reception 5-7 pm
James Hegarty, Multimedia/Electronic Music Artist
"Something I Remembered...."
This work incorporates prerecorded text manipulated by the video capture of motion in the room. The viewer's motions trigger audio playback that reveals fragments of a story. These non-linear reminiscences of past events suggest a kind of digitally created deja vu as if one is being reminded of something in the past by an action or incident of the present.
Chris Ottinger, Multimedia Artist
This work investigates chance, sound ontology, meta-sound and synesthesia. Exploration of these themes takes the form of paintings, interactive graphic scores, experimental videos and nontraditional musical instruments with an anti-art aesthetic. These works are the physical manifestations of an ontological questioning of the nature of sound, and sound as music.
Co-sponsored by Driftlab Interactive, 8711 Big Bend Blvd.
