Craft Alliance in the Loop invites you to a Free Public Opening Reception

Craft Alliance in the Delmar Loop is pleased to host a new glass exhibit by artist Jiyoung Lee: Segmentation, November 14 through December 28, 2008. Jiyong Lee's work is inspired by his fascination with cell division and life science. Lee states "The uniquely refined translucent glass surface suggests the mysterious qualities of cells and on a larger scale the cloudiness of our futures." He works with glass that has transparency and translucency, two qualities that perfectly represent the metaphorical clarity and mysteries of life. The Segmentation Series is quiet, yet powerful-Jiyong works with solid glass-cutting, lamination, carving, and surface refining processes-to make work that is both beautiful and deeply invested with meaning.
