Marbles Yoga Studio Art Gallery brings African-American Florida Folk Artist to St. Louis. Ruby C. Williams' "art with an attitude" evolved from life in a Florida freed slave community and painting roadside produce stand signs, to recognition by the Smithsonian!
Marbles Gallery exhibits A SLICE OF LIFE: New Folk Art Paintings by Ruby C. Williams September 17 – October 5, 2008. Marbles partners with St. Louis arts and education organizations for special events, discussions, demonstrations and meetings with this unique Florida folk artist.
• Free public opening – Saturday, September 20 from 6-9 p.m., artist's talk 7-7:30 p.m., live music and light refreshments.
• Free family event Sunday, Sept 21, 2-4 p.m. Artist's talk and demonstration at 2:30 p.m. Ruby and her story provide inspiration for artists of all ages!
