Atrium Gallery: Friday, 20 June 2008

Please join us as we open two Summer Shows. "Abstraction" includes a small group of paintings, drawings, and sculpture, that express emotion, mood, and an aesthetic through color and non-figurative forms. Among other works the exhibition features new pieces by Michael Marshall, as well as a large scale painting by Doug Salveson, and a sculptural wall piece by Jim Nickel.

In tandem with "Abstraction" will be an extensive exhibition of representational works, "People and Places," presenting pieces by over a dozen artists. Included is an impressive, new woodblock/etching by national artist Suzanne Caporael, and several new moonlit landscape works by national photographer Avery Danziger. This show will juxtapose rather provocative figurative works with landscape as well as urban settings from NYC to Copenhagen.

The exhibitions both open Friday, June 20, with Atrium's traditional Special Summer Party, 6-8p.m. They will run through August 17. For more information please check our website, atriumgallery.net or call 314-367-1076. Atrium gallery is located at 4729 McPherson Avenue and summer hours are Wednesday-Saturday, 10-6 and Sunday, noon-4.
