Gallery Visio is pleased to present, “Energy,” spirited works by Abigail Birhanu and Dail Chambers. This exhibit will display pieces that are hi-energy, telling stories from the artist’s point of view.

Birhanu, a recent graduate from the Bachelor of Fine Arts Program in Art Education at UM-St. Louis, is currently a part-time teacher at St. Charles High School. In her free time, she is involved in a drawing group entitled, “Draw Club”. The group collectively comes together to create figure drawings. Chambers is currently a senior at Memphis Art College in Memphis, Tennessee. She is heavily involved in activism; her contributions include Red Cross, and “Project Hello”, a group that provides services to the homeless.

“Energy” is defined by the American Heritage Dictionary as the “capacity of work or vigorous activity”. Birhanu and Chambers have captured this frenzy energy. Birhanu uses colored wax on black surface to convey light as it penetrations darkness. Chambers often uses family stories as examples to display energy in a different form.
